چکیده
Objectives: The present study aimed to compare the diagnostic values of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fasting blood sugar (FBS) using glucose challenge test (GCT) in screening for gestational diabetes. Materials Methods: A total 618 women at 24-28 weeks pregnancy were selected, their FBS HbA1c measured GCT. obtained results compared terms sensitivity, specificity, as well positive negative predictive ROC curve. Results: At cut-off point 1.4, sensitivity was 69.74% specificity 69.05 test; 6.6, 90.79% 80.95% area under curve 0.925 with a 95% confidence interval (0.979, 0.872). Conclusion: GCT favorable diabetes; also showed high value OGCT results.

Objective: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is the most common metabolic disorder during pregnancy. This study aimed to compare the prevalence of GDM positive screening tests with Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) and Glucose Challenge Test (GCT) in pregnant women without risk factors in Esfarayn, Iran. متن کاملThe Effect of Oat Bran Supplement on Fasting Blood Sugar and Glycosylated Hemoglobin in Patients with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus: Single-blind Randomized Clinical Trial
Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is known as a degree of glucose intolerance that occurs for the first time during pregnancy. There is paucity of evidence regarding the effect of oat bran on GDM. Oat as a source of β-glucan can be effective in reducing the blood sugar levels. This study aimed to investigate the effect of oat bran on fasting blood sugar (FBS) and glycosylated hemo...
متن کاملThe glucose challenge test for screening of gestational diabetes.
BACKGROUND The frequency of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is 0.6% -15% of pregnant woman. The modern trend towards the delay starting family is the main factor responsible for increase prevalence of GDM. This condition is associated with the adverse effect on mother and fetus, so it is important to find out the GDM by screening of all the pregnant women. OBJECTIVE To observe the feasibi...
متن کاملThe diagnosis value of blood glucose combined glycosylated hemoglobin in gestational diabetes
Gestational diabetes mellitus is a common complication in gestation period, and single diagnostic test of blood glucose always results in misdiagnosis. Previous studies showed that glycosylated hemoglobin was a promising biomarker for screening, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes. Combined measurements can improve the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis. Thus, our study aimed to explore t...

OBJECTIVES (a) To test the sensitivity and specificity of measuring fasting plasma glucose levels (FPG) as a screening test for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). (b) To compare predicting levels of FPG levels with the one-hour, oral 50g non-fasting glucose challenge test (GCT) for predicting GDM. METHODS One thousand and six hundred pregnant women from the Health Centres, antenatal clinics...
